Subclass 500 visa is designed for a student to stay in Australia for the duration of the relevant course. You can stay in Australia temporarily.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this visa, you must meet the following requirements:
- hold an eligible visa if applying while in Australia
- provide a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE)
- must be enrolled in a full time course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institution and courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS)
- meet Genuine Student (GS) requirement
- meet English language requirement
- have enough fund for your stay
- maintain adequate health insurance
- meet Public Interest Criteria
- meet Special Return Criteria.
Student Guardian (subclass 590) visa
Subclass 590 visa is designed for a student guardian come to Australia to provide care and support for a student visa holder who is under 18 years of age. You can stay in Australia temporarily.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this visa, you must meet the following requirements:
- hold an eligible visa if applying while in Australia
- be a parent or custodian of the student visa holder or a relative of the student aged 21 years or older and nominated in writing by a parent or person who has custody of the student
- required to provide care and support for a student visa holder who is under 18 years of age or a student visa holder who is 18 years of age or older and needs care and support due to exceptional circumstances
- must be able to provide accommodation, support and general welfare to the student
- intend genuinely to stay in Australia temporarily and comply with any conditions
- have enough fund for your stay
- maintain adequate health insurance
- meet Public Interest Criteria
- meet Special Return Criteria.
