Many Australian universities are ranked in the top 100 universities around the globe
Australian education is orientated towards innovation, practical skills and up-to-date knowledge. This is very different to some countries that emphasis conventions and rote learning.
Many courses include work experience programs, so you combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience. This helps with employment when you graduate.
It is quite acceptable to study part time while studying, up to 20 hours per week during the semester, and full time during breaks.
There are many student support networks, including dedicated international student support centers.
Australia is fairly safe, and has a multicultural community.

You can apply for study either directly to the university, or through an Australian education Agent. If you apply to several universities you need a separate application for each.
If your application is successful the university will send you a ‘letter of offer’. You must respond to this, and they will confirm your acceptance.

Permanent Residency

Immigration Lawyer Sydney

Immigration to Australia means individuals are looking to become citizens or permanent residents. They often start by moving to Australia with an appropriate visa, and apply for permanent residency after working in the country for a few years. Eventually, after holding a visa, then permanent residency, they may apply for full citizenship.

Permanent residency is often misunderstood, as is the conditions imposed upon permanent residents.

You are allowed an indefinite stay Australia if granted permanent residency. But there are some conditions to this indefinite stay. The main point is that the resident cannot leave the country, or leave the country for too long. The permanent resident is expected to stay in Australia, with only occasional trip to foreign countries.

A permanent residency has a 1 year activation date. This mean you must enter the country within one year of being granted the permanent residency status. Once you have done this you might temporarily leave the country. You can stay outside the country for up to 5 years before losing your permanent residence status.

A permanent resident may:

  • Work in almost any Australian job, though some government jobs are restricted.
  • Start a business
  • Use the Australian medicare system, which allows a lot of free or subsidized care. There are minimal grace periods for this; full medicare cover is granted as soon as residence is granted.
  • Buy new or preexisting residential property. This is limited for foreigners.
  • Apply for a first home loan grant, under some conditions.
  • Be eligible for childcare rebates.
  • Apply for bank loans to buy property.
  • Attend and education facility as a citizen would, defering payment through HECS.
  • Send any children to public education.
  • Any child of a permanent resident born in Australia will be Australian citizens by birth.
  • Permanent residents in Australia will have similar priviliages if they stay in New Zealand.
