Approved Skill Immigration

Approved Skill Immigration

There is a need for skilled labour in some regional parts of Australia. The Australian government is providing 19.4 million in funding to encourage skilled migrants to work in these regions and encourage permanent residency.

This skilled visa program is about supporting Australian businesses. The main metropolitan areas of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane have no real problem here. But other areas, especially the northern territory and Victoria’s Great South Coast. These have recently signed designated area Migration agreements.

The program aims to even out the growing labour situation in many areas of the country, lest the labour requirements take working individuals away from the cities. Immigrants will be offered positions not already taken by those in Australia.

About 25% of the present annual migration intake is from employer sponsorship.

The applicants for these regions’ skilled work visas will have priority processing on their application.

Partners VISAs

The foreign partner of an Australian may be eligible for a partner VISA. This applies to engaged and married couples, as well as to de facto and same-sex couples.

Unfortunately, at $7000.oo, the partner VISA is expensive.

There are some bridging and temporary VISAs available that allow a partner to live and work In Australia while the partner VISA is being processed. This temporary measure is often necessary because the partner VISA may take up to two years to process.

Partner VISAs are closely scrutinized by the immigration officials and maybe refused for several reasons.

  • The immigration agents may suspect that the partner relationship isn’t genuine.
  • The individual did not meet character or health requirements.
  • A request for further information was not responded to, or not responded to in time.
  • There was not enough relevant evidence for the assessment criteria.
  • There was conflicting evidence. E.g.: Social media may have contradicted some statements made on forms.
  • Inconsistencies on information and dates between partners.
  • Forms not completed correctly.
  • False information was discovered in the application.
  • There was false information on a previous VISA application.
  • Some Australian citizens are barred from being a sponsor, such a person cannot bring in a partner on an immigration VISA.
